Packaging machinery can be divided into two categories:
1. A machine used to process packaging materials and packaging containers;

Washing, sterilizing, and drying machine
Machines that clean, sterilize, and dry packaging containers before packaging, or products after packaging, are called cleaning machines, sterilizing machines, and drying machines. Container

Packaging machinery and additional equipment
Any machines and equipment that cannot be included in the seven items above but are necessary to complete the packaging process may be called additional packaging machines and equipment. For example, conveyor devices, sorting tables, metering machines; box openers, glue applicators, printers, inspection machines, etc.
In addition to classifying packaging machines primarily based on their packaging functions as described above, they can sometimes be further classified according to the level of automation or the scope of use.
For example, a machine that uses manual feeding of packaging materials or removal of packaged products but can automatically complete other packaging operations can be called a semi-automatic packaging machine; a machine that automatically performs feeding, packaging, and output of finished products is called an automatic packaging machine.
A packaging machine that can only package products in specific shapes, specifications, and sizes is called a special-purpose packaging machine; a packaging machine that can package products in two or more different shapes, specifications, and sizes is called a multipurpose packaging machine; a packaging machine that can package products of any shape, specification, and size within a certain range is called a general-purpose packaging machine.
